The ICAI has posted the notice regarding the postponement of the ICAI CA intermediate and final exam 2021 from its official Twitter handle. The ICAI has also made an announcement from its official website at icai.org.
The ICAI CA intermediate and final exam 2021 scheduled to commence from May 22, 2021, and May 21, 2021, respectively. However, the exams have been postponed keeping in view the current scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic. The notification by ICAI reads, “In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of welfare & well – being of students and to mitigate their hardships, it has been decided to postpone the Final and Intermediate Chartered Accountants Examinations which are scheduled to commence from 21st (Final) / 22nd (Intermediate) May 2021 across the globe.”
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) The notification further reads, “However, the situation of a pandemic will be reviewed (COVID cases, MHA guidelines, Centre and State Government directions) and fresh dates will be intimated to students. While doing so, a notice of at least 25 days will be given before the start of the examinations.”
The unprecedented hike in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country has compelled the authorities to cancel or postpone exams in order to ensure the safety of the candidates as well as to curb the spread of the disease. Many competitive exams including JEE Main 2021 April session exam, NEET PG 2021 exam, UGC NET 2021 exams have been canceled because of the COVID-19 situation in the country.

New Delhi: Candidates who qualify for the Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), or Cost and Works Accountant (ICWA) exams will now be treated equivalent to postgraduate degree holders, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC).
“The UGC had received requests from the Institute of chartered-accountants-of-India-ICAI, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, to consider the qualification is awarded by the — CA, CS, and ICWA, equivalent to post-graduation degrees,” the UGC said in official order.
